In the early 1980’s, MMI implemented the Service Purchase Program in order to increase private brand sales for both the distributor and the retailer. This program evolved into the current MDF Program (Market Development Funds). With this program, business dramatically grew and today MMI is a leader in the private brand industry. As private brands became more sophisticated, so did MMI. The growth and expansion of private brands required more specialized professional services and between the early 1980’s and now, MMI brought services that were once outsourced in house.
Today, the MMI business model consists of four individual business units, or professional service groups, working as an integrated team to support the private brand industry, as well as working independently to target their own markets. The business units are as follows: Consumer Science, MMI Label Inventory Management, Immotion Studios, and ProductMaster.
Quality Assurance and Consumer Affairs were assembled creating services to bring quality to private brand goods. With the assistance of Pease, Sr., the Quality Assurance Association was established in 1989. Today we have a state- of- the- art Consumer Science Department.
In 1989 our Creative Department opened to offer assistance in the design and development of private brands. Our award winning design team has assisted clients in the creation of labels, ads and commercials. With more than twenty years of expansion and evolution, this creative team has become known as Immotion Studios.
Also in 1989, Valor International was established as the sales and marketing agent for International distributors and a financial solutions provider creating a new level for MMI. This company has grown and now provides logistics services throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Immotion Studios are the only certified brand development strategists in Texas. We skillfully execute communication programs that begin with a solid branding strategy and result in increased brand awareness and recognition. Always looking into the future of private brands, MMI embarked on finding the best alliances and formed a long term exclusive agreement with Agentrics in 2003. This service provides our customers with the most progressive web based Product Lifecycle Tool, which links Suppliers, Retailers, Wholesalers, and Service Providers in order to have one version of the truth. MMI has branded this program ProductMaster.
MMI has evolved from a simple Private Label Food Broker to a leader in the industry because of internal growth and its commitment to excellence. MMI has all the resources necessary to bring dynamic solutions to efficiently and completely meet our client’s needs.
